Man Utd plotting move for out-of-favour Juventus defender

Manchester United are monitoring the progress of Atalanta’s Merih Demiral with a view of launching a summer move, with La Dea expected to sign him outright, according to a report from Fanatik.

Looking at the success of fellow Serie A side’s ideas, Juventus were again willing to send one of their other central defenders in Merih Demiral to them, with the loan deal carrying a reasonable purchase option.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side can make his deal permanent by paying €27m, although the outfit could look to sell the player on a massive profit.

Plenty of Premier League teams are keeping a close eye on him. The 24-year-old Demiral has played 31 times for his Italian club this season.

In the last few days, the Red Devils have entered the frame for the Turkey international, with the 20-time English champions scouring the market for some quality centre-halves ahead of the summer transfer market.

Current variants are not considered up to the mark in spite of the presence of Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof.

United may look to bring in several fresh faces and freshen up their solutions a bit heading into the 2022/23 term.
