Manchester United have made Declan Rice and Kalidou Koulibaly their priority signings next year, according to reports.
The decision has been made in spite of speculation about the future of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reaching new heights this week after defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League.
Ole is facing the sack if he cannot turn results around, but Goal state United’s transfer plans are already in place ahead of the 2020/21 term. Declan is the priority target in midfield.
The West Ham ace has established himself as one of the league’s elite operators and the Red Devils have been tracking the 20-year-old for the last year.
The Hammers are likely to demand a mammoth sum for Rice, who fits the criteria United are seeking in fresh faces as a young, British star. United spent big on English pair Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka during the summer and are ready to do the same with Rice next year.
But United’s most expensive buy in 2020 is sure to be Napoli star Koulibaly, who is valued at over £90 million by his club. Manchester United are determined to head into the new season with a new midfielder and centre-back in their ranks.
Kalidou has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford and United see the 28-year-old as the perfect partner for Maguire.
United are keen to match Harry with an elite centre-back and their transfer plans won’t be affected by who is in charge at the club once the summer transfer window arrives.
