Man Utd ready to listen offers for defensive pair

Manchester United are allegedly hoping to offload out-of-favour pair Diogo Dalot and Marcos Rojo for a combined £28 million during the summer transfer window.

Dalot was restricted to just 11 appearances acros all competitions for United during the 2019-20 term, and with the Red Devils supposedly aiming to acquire a new full-back in the window, Dalot is expected to be moved on.

Marcos has also fallen down the pecking order under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and spent the second half of last campaign on loan at boyhood club Estudiantes, where Rojo only turned out once before suffering an injury.

With the club looking to improve their squad further, which still includes the possibility of landing Jadon Sancho, the Daily Record claims that Ed Woodward wants to sell Diogo and Marcos for sizeable figures this summer.

The report states that United intend to recoup the full €22 million (£20.4m) they paid Porto to sign the Portuguese two years ago, and French side Lille have already seen an offer for the 21-year-old rejected.

Rojo, who will see his current contract at Old Trafford expire next summer, is reportedly holding out for a move to Serie A and could be available for €8 million (£7.4m).

In other news, Manchester United are allegedly prepared to renew their interest in Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale.

While the Red Devils are currently focused on trying to land Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, they are not willing to pay the winger’s £108m asking price.

Although a host of alternatives have been suggested in the latest weeks, the Daily Star claims that Bale is the Red Devils’ preferred option.
