Manchester United are set to battle Barcelona for the signature of AS Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans, who is playing in his second season for the French club having joined from Anderlecht back in 2017 for a fee of around £21.6 million.
And according to Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblad, the return of Leonardo Jardim in the dugout at the Stade Louis II has opened up the chance of the 21-year-old leaving after less than two years at the club.
However, while the midfielder’s club has endured a poor season, Youri Tieleman impressed at last year’s World Cup for Belgium where he made four appearances.
This has attracted the attention of Manchester United and Barcelona, while 2015/16 Premier League champions Leicester City are also understood to be keen on the move.
As reported by Sky Sports, the Foxes are also currently in talks with French side over a potential £20 million switch to England. But it remains to be seen if Leicester City have enough to lure the Belgian to the King Power Stadium while the European giants loom over a potential transfer themselves.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are working on deals for Juan Mata and Anthony Martial.
