Manchester United playmaker Donny van de Beek has reportedly been mentioned by either Manchester United or Real Madrid as a part of a potential swap deal involving French centre-back Raphael Varane.
The 20-times English champions are believed to be keen to secure the services of Varane during this summer’s transfer window, and a recent report suggested that Los Blancos demanded Van de Beek in part-exchange.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Netherlands international has been discussed by both teams as a potential part of the agreement.
The 24-year-old played 36 games for the 20-time English champions during the 2020-21 season, having arrived from Ajax last September and despite the price, the Red Devils paid Ole Gunnar Solskjaer never gave him a chance to become a regular playing Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba in the heart of the Reds midfield area.
The Dutchman largely found it tough to make his mark for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, though and has been rumoured with a move away over the last few months direct PL rivals Liverpool also thought to be interested in recruiting the Dutchmna.
Romano has also suggested that Man United are yet to make an official bid for Raphael Varane despite approaching Real Madrid to register their interest in the France international.
