Man Utd and Real Madrid go head-to-head to sign highly-rated African defender
Manchester United could reportedly go head to head with La Liga giants Real Madrid for the services of Real Valladolid centre-back Mohammed Salisu during this summer’s transfer window.
The 20-year-old has broken into the Valladolid starting XI during the 2019-20 season, playing 24 games in all competitions, including 23 in La Ligas top flight.
According to AS, the Los Blancos are determined to secure the services of the Ghanian at the end of the campaign, however, the Red Devils are also interested in a summer deal and could submit an offer when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.
Salisu has a deal with his La Liga team until the summer of 2022, although it is alleged that there is a £10m release clause in his current contract.
The defender, who has joined Valladolid from the African Talent Football Academy back in 2017, made his debut for the White and Violets in the early stages of 2019.
The Red Devils broke the transfer record for a defender when they secured the services of Harry Maguire last summer, however, the Red Devils are reportedly still looking to improve their defence squad ahead of next season.
Atletico Madrid and Valencia are also both being credited with a strong interest in Salisu.
Man Utd planning £160m double swoop for English midfielders
Manchester United will reportedly be planning to make moves for both Leicester City midfielder James Maddison and Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.
The 20-times English champions have improved their midfield options with the securing the services of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon back in January however, are still expected to spend strongly at the end of the 2019-20 season.
Grealish continues to be strongly rumoured with a move to the theatre of the dream stadium and according to The Sun, the Red Devils are lining up a £70m move for his services.
However, the report suggests that Maddison stays a target for the Red Devils, who could launch a £90m bid when this summer’s transfer window opens for business.
Grealish has found back of the net nine times and provided seven assists in 27 games for Villa this campaign, while James Maddison has scored nine goals and posted three assists in 30 appearences for Brendan Rodger’s side.
The Red Devils have also allegedly been given a boost in their pursuit of Lyon centre-forward Moussa Dembele, who was rumoured with the club in January.
Real Madrid planning to offer 26-year-old midfielder in a swap deal for Paul Pogba
La Liga giants Real Madrid are reportedly considering using Isco as a makeweight in a deal to secure the services of Man Utd playmaker Paul Pogba this summer.
The Los Blancos head-coach Zinedine Zidane is still believed to see compatriot French playmaker as one of his dream targets, with the World Cup-winning playmaker having been consistently rumoured with a switch to Santiago Bernabeu in recent years.
Spanish giants are believed to revive their interest again during the upcoming summer transfer window as the 26-year-old’s current deal enters its final year, and they hope that the Red Devils signing of Bruno Fernandes will help to open the door for Frenchman to depart from the squad.
Spanish outlet El Desmarque reports that the Los Blancos are also willing to offer the Red Devils further midfield reinforcements in the form of Spanish playmaker in order to lower the £150m asking price.
The 20-times English champions have regularly been rumoured with Isco in recent years, and Spaniard is considered dispensable by Zinedine Zidane having only made nine La Liga starts this campaign.
Pogba, meanwhile, has been limited to make only eight appearances across all competitions following to injury, with his last start for the Red Devils coming in September.
