Man Utd joined the race for RB Leipzig defensive rock

Manchester United will reportedly have to fend off interest from their Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea to secure the services of RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konate.

Having failed to bring in a new defender in the past two transfer windows, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will supposedly prioritise that position this summer.

The 20-times English champions were linked with a move for Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano before the Frenchman agreed a move to Bayern Munich, while Sevilla’s Jules Kounde has been on the shortlist of Solskjaer.

Man United have been credited with an interest in Konate, but according to Bild, Chelsea and Liverpool are also in the race as they are planning to strengthen their backline especially the injury crisis they face this season.

All three Premier League powerhouses were rumoured with a move for Upamecano, and the report suggests that Konate is the Red Devils next defensive target after they missed out on his compatriot.

The 21-year-old is under deal at Leipzig until the end of the 2022-23 season, however, he is believed to possess a €45m (£39m) release clause in his deal, which becomes active this summer.

Barcelona turned down Man Utd £130m bid for Spanish winger

Barcelona reportedly turned down a £130m offer from Premier League giants, Manchester United for Ansu Fati during last summer’s transfer window.

The 18-year-old Spanish forward has been on the sidelines following to a knee injury since November however, had started the 2020-21 campaign in fine form for the Catalan giants, founding back of the net five times and providing four assists in 10 outings.

In all, Fati has managed to found back of the net 13 times and contributed five assists in 43 games for La Liga giants, having made the breakthrough into the first team last campaign.

According to Mundo Deportivo, The 20-times English champions made a £130m offer for the Spain international forward last summer, however, Ronald Koeman’s side made it clear that they were not interested in selling him.

The teenager’s existing contract with Barca is set to expire in June 2022, although the club have the option of activating an additional two years on the agreement.

The 18-year-old forward joined La Masia in 2012 at the age of 10, having previously spent time with Sevilla’s academy.

Barcelona another forward Antoine Griezmann has been also rumoured with a switch to Old Trafford following the Frenchman’s failed spell at Nou Camp since the arrival from Atletico Madrid.

Man Utd 23-year-old star set to hit club board with transfer ultimatum

Man Utd stopper Dean Henderson will reportedly demand a departure from Old Trafford if he is not guaranteed the number one jersey for the 2021-22 season.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a successful two years on loan at Sheffield United and starred for the Blades in their stunning 2019-20 campaign, however, he has struggled to get a look-in at United.

Indeed, English stopper has played just 12 games across all competitions for the Red Devils this campaign- three in the English top-tier – and he is believed to be frustrated at playing second fiddle to David de Gea.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the 23-year-old keeper will therefore head for the Old Trafford exit door unless Ole Gunnar Solskjaer make him first-choice at the club over David de Gea.

The report suggests that if the club were to sanction an exit for Henderson, they would ask any potential suitors to fork out £40m, with West Ham, Chelsea and Tottenham all believed to be keeping tabs on the situation.

The shot-stopper signed a contract extension with the 20-times English champions ntil the end of the 2024-25 season last summer.
