Man Utd offered new contract to 22-year-old versatile defender

Manchester United have reportedly offered new contract to versatile defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

The 22-year-old defender was reintroduced into the first team at Old Trafford after the lockdown period earlier this year and has been involved on two times for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team this season.

Fosu-Mensah’s current contract at Old Trafford is set to expire next June, however, according to the Manchester Evening News, the Dutch centre-back has been offered fresh contract.

The report suggests that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to keep hold of the 22-year-old star, having been impressed by his training form prior to the enforced lockdown.

As it stands, the ex-Ajax starlet would be free to negotiate with foreign teams at the start of 2021, and there are allegedly a number of club that have shown interested in his signature.

The 22-year-old defender, who has recently spent time on loan with Premier League outfits, Crystal Palace and Fulham, has played 29 first-team games for the Red Devils in all competitions.

Man Utd also keen on to agree new deal for French playmaker, Paul Pogba who has been tipped with a switch to European giants Real Madrid and Juventus.

Man Utd urged to make approach for Real Madrid £312,000 a-week star

Former Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov has claimed that Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos would be a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Spanish defenders existing contract at Santiago Bernabeu is set to expire next June, and a recent report suggested that Real Madrid had still not offered the 34-year-old a new deal.

The Red Devils are allegedly interested in securing the services of the Spain international, and Berbatov is confident that Ramos would easily become key player for the Jurgen Klopp’s side.

“There has been a lot of speculation about the future of Sergio Ramos – according to reports both the player and club are yet to come to an agreement on a new contract. With Ramos 34 years old, they are probably fighting over a one-year or two-year contract,” Berbatov told Betfair.

“Thiago Silva, who is even older at 36 years old, has proven that it is never too late to move to the Premier League and so far it is working out well for the Brazilian.

“I’m sure if Ramos wanted to move to a club like United then it would work out well for him too. He’s in great shape, he’s still a world-class defender and in my opinion there’s still a lot of football left in him.

“I see him as a Real Madrid player, however, and I think player and club will find a solution and he will stay. I’ll be surprised if he leaves, but if things don’t work out then I’m sure a lot of clubs will be interested in him.”

Everton set to hijack Man Utd move for world-cup winning midfielder

Everton head-coach Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly keen to sign Juventus midfield destroyer Sami Khedira to Goodison Park during when January transfer window will be re-opened.

The 33-year-old German midfielder has not been involved for the Old Lady during the 2020-21 campaign and is widely expected to leave either at the start of 2021 or for free next season.

Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the former Real Madrid midfielder, who has been capped on 77 times by the German national team.

However, according to Calciomercato, the Merseyside Blues lead the race for 33-year-old midfielder, with the five-time Serie A winner keen to reunite with Italian tactician, Carlo Ancelotti, whom he played under at Real Madrid.

The report suggests that the Germany international is still training with Serie A champions on a regular basis, however, is unlikely to be involved in the coming weeks unless there is an injury crisis at the club.

The World Cup winning midfielder has played 144 games for the Old Lady across the all competitions.

Meanwhile, Serie A giants, Inter Milan have reportedly told Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool that Nicolo Barella is not for sale at any price.

The 23-year-old, who has made a switch to San Siro on a permanent basis over the summer after spending last campaign on loan from Cagliari, has managed to provide four assists in 10 games for Antonio Conte’s side this season.
