The 26-year-old defender has made four appearances for the Red Devils this campaign, while he was also an unused substitute for the victory against  Newcastle United earlier last weekend.

However, the Ivory Coast international is now set for a period on the sidelines after sustaining yet another significant injury.

Speaking after the Red Devils triumph at Paris Saint-Germain, Man Utd head-coach , Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told the club’s media team that the 26-year-old would not feature until the next international break.

Bailly will now miss important games against Chelsea,Arsenal and Everton in the Premier League and Champions League games with RB Leipzig, and Istanbul Basaksehir coming back into contention.

The 26-year-old defender has featured on just 15 occasions since the beginning of the 2019-20 season.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have reportedly identified Sevilla’s centre-back Jules Kounde as their transfer targets in January.

The 20-times English champions were rumoured with a new central defender throughout the current transfer window, however, ultimately focused on other areas of their team, securing the services of Dutch playmaker, Donny van de Beek, Uruguay pair Edinson Cavani,  Facundo Pellistri and Alex Telles.

However, after conceding 11 goals in their three Premier League games Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be planning further additions in the winter transfer window.

Man Utd determined to agree deal for Inter Milan forward next summer

Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez next summer.

The 23-year-old was heavily linked with Barcelona in the summer, however, the Catalan giants could not come to an agreement with Serie A giants Inter Milan over a transfer fee.

Meanwhile, a recent report claimed that the Blues had made an attempt to secure the services of the Argentina international in the recent transfer window, however, player refused to join them.

Martinez has carried his stunning form from last campaign into the 2020-21 season, already having managed to score three goals in four Serie A appearances.

According to reports in Spain, the Red Devils are considering joining the race for the South American forward, with a big-money offer potentially being made during next seasons transfer window.

Man Utd secure the services of Edinson Cavani on transfer deadline day, however, the Uruguay international is not a long-term option in the final third of the field, while Chelsea have signed Timo Werner who has scored his first Premier League goal last weekend.

Martinez, who has a deal at San Siro until June 2023, has managed to found back of the net 33 times in 88 games for his current team since arriving from Racing Club back in July 2018.

Man Utd slapped £20m price tag on 28-year-old defender

Manchester United are reportedly not prepared to sell 28-year-old defender Phil Jones for a cut-price transfer fee.

The England international centre-back has not made a competitive appearance for the Red Devils since the winter transfer window following to both injury and falling down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Red Devils were allegedly open to parting ways with the defender during the summer transfer window, only for the 28-year-old  star to receive little interest.

According to The Sun, club officials are still planning to receive £20m for Phil Jones, who still has three years left on his current deal.

The 20-times English champions realistically have little chance of recouping that fee during the current financial climate, leaving the likelihood of finalised the negotiations being held between the relevant parties.

While Phil Jones could come back into contention in the English top-tier he was recently left out of the Red Devils Champions League squad.

Meanwhile, Manchester United reportedly attempted to secure services of German giants, Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schulz on loan before the summer transfer window shut down on October 5.

The 20-times English champions were heavily linked with Dortmund another star Jadon Sancho over the summer , however, were unable to come to an agreement with the German giants as they demanded around £108m while the Red Devils were ready to pay only £90m for his signature.
