PL No.9 forward urged to make Manchester United move
Mexico head-coach Gerard Martino has suggested that Raul Jimenez should show a preference towards making the switch to Man Utd instead of Juventus.
Having starred for Wolves over the past two campaigns, Jimenez has been strongly linked with a switch to hosts of top European teams.
While the Los Blancos are also believed to be admirers, Martino feels that his compatriot would be best suited to Manchester United, who he says lack a recognised central striker.
Speaking to ESPN, Martino said: “Looking at it from the outside today I cannot see a specialist number nine like Raul at United.
“There are many forwards like [Marcus] Rashford, [Anthony] Martial and the boy who now plays as right winger: [Mason] Greenwood but since Romelu Lukaku left I can’t see a pure number nine like Raul.
“At Juventus he will have more of a fight because [Cristiano] Ronaldo shares the inside of the pitch with whoever plays alongside him, with [Paulo] Dybala or with [Gonzalo] Higuain and maybe he has a tougher fight there.”
Jimenez still has three years remaining on his current deal at Molineux and it seems that he has now bee on his way to join one of the top European teams ahead of the next season.
West Ham United considering a move for Man Utd out-of-favour pair
West Ham United are reportedly considering an approach for Man United pair Jesse Lingard and Phil Jones.
The two England internationals have struggled to make an impression under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this campaign and could allegedly be on their way to depart from the club this summer.
According to The Independent, David Moyes is keen to reunite with both Jessie Lingard and Phil Jones at West Ham, having worked with the duo during his brief stint as the Red Devils head coach.
However, an approach for the Red Devils dou could supposedly be hindered by a number of roadblocks, as Phil Jones penned a four-year contract at Old Trafford last summer while Jessie Lingard is believed to be keen to fight for his place in Solskjaer’s starting XI.
Furthermore, the Hammers are embroiled in a relegation battle as they lie four points above the bottom three, and the report suggests that the signing of Lingard and Jones would be unlikely to come to fruition if the West London club drop down to the Championship.
While Jones still has three years left to run on his current contract at Old Trafford, Lingard will see his current deal expire next summer.
Manchester United to hijack Liverpool’s move for World-Class No.6 midfielder
Manchester United have reportedly identified Bayern Munich star, Thiago Alcantara, as top transfer target this summer.
Throughout this week, the Spanish midfielder has been strongly linked with a summer move to Liverpool before the beginning of the next season.
The most recent reports suggest that the Spaniard, who has a year left on his contract at the Allianz Arena, is also keen on to make the switch to Anfield.
However, according to Bild, the Red Devils may rival Liverpool for the 29-year-old’s services.
Despite the January arrival of Bruno Fernandes and return to form of France international star, Paul Pogba, it has been reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stays keen on another creative player in the middle of the pitch.
Bayern Munich are allegedly willing to sell Thiago Alcantara for a fee in the region of £30m.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are reportedly ahead of Manchester United to secure services of Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with a departure from Stadio Sao Paolo this summer and will allegedly be allowed to leave for €100m (£90.5m).
Man City and Man Utd have both been rumoured with the Senegal international, however, according to Tuttomercatoweb, the Merseyside Reds now are in the lead to get the deal done for Senegalese international defender.
