Man Utd identified Leicester City key man as perfect replacement for David de Gea

Manchester United could reportedly attempt to secure services of Leicester City stopper Kasper Schmeichel during the current summer transfer window.

David de Gea stays as the club’s number one keeper, however, the Spain international has seen his form dip over the last year, and he has made some high-profile mistakes in the recent weeks before the end of the 2019/20 season.

Dean Henderson is set to return to Old Trafford in the summer following a loan spell at Sheffield United, however, according to The Sun, the 20-times English champions are weighing up a move for the Danish stopper.

The 33-year-old, who has a deal at the King Power Stadium until June 2023, has kept 14 clean sheets in 44 games for the Brendan Rodger’s side during the 2019-20 season.

The Denmark international, who is the son of the Red Devils legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, came through the youth system at Etihad Stadium, however, only made 10 first-team games for the Citizens before moving on.

Schmeichel would represent a cheaper alternative to Atletico Madrid’s stopper Jan Oblak, who will allegedly not be allowed to depart from the Wanda Metropolitano in the summer for less than his £109m release clause.

29-year-old forward ready to snub interest from Man Utd and Liverpool

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Raul Jimenez is reportedly not interested in departing from his current team during the summer transfer window despite interest from Manchester United and Liverpool

The Mexico international has been in fine form for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team during the 2019-20 season, founding back of the net 26 times and providing 10 assists in 53 games in all competitions.

The 20-times English champions have been heavily linked with the forward, and a recent report suggested that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were closing in on a move for the 29-year-old. while the Merseyside Reds also kept close tabs on his situation.

However, according to Record, Mexico International forward ‘is happy in Wolverhampton’ and is not interested in departing from the Molineux ahead of the 2020-21 season.

Jimenez has ‘interest from great teams’, though, according to the report, with Serie A defending champions, Juventus also believed to be closely monitoring the developments surrounding his future.

The forwards current deal with Wolves, who could still qualify for next campaigns Champions League via the Europa League, is set to run until June 2023.

Man Utd also eyeing a summer move for another Mexican forward Hirving Lozano who has been tipped with a departure from Napoli ahead of the next campaign.

Ryan Giggs urged Man Utd to sign English attacker pair this summer

Ryan Giggs believes that Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho would be two excellent signings for his former club Man Utd.

The 20-times English champions are bound to be rumoured with a whole host of players in the coming weeks and months as they look to strengthen their team ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s second full campaign at the club.

The Red Devils will have the lure of Champions League football to attract potential new signings in the summer after Solskjaer’s side finished in third place in the English top-tier this season.

Grealish and Sancho have both been touted as potential transfer targets for the Red Devils this summer as Solskjaer plans to strengthen his team.

Now, Manchester United legend Giggs has claimed that his belief that the English duo would be good signings.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Giggs said of Sancho and Grealish: “Two good players. I think the thing with Grealish is he’s obviously used to the Premier League and doesn’t need to adapt to it so that’s good.

“For me from the outside, it looks like he’s got the mentality to come to this place and not bother him. Certain players can get overawed.

“Also, the good thing this year is he’s got ten goals and got into double figures so that would be one question mark I would have had with him: does he score enough goals? To get to double figures with no penalties for Villa is impressive.

“Sancho is quick, direct but also an intelligent player. What I like about him is when he gets into them areas with the final ball, he doesn’t panic. A lot of quick wide players sometimes do but he picks out the right pass.

“He’s someone who can counter-attack if we’re going to play that but also if a team are going to sit back, he can beat players and make things happen.

“They are two signings that may be available and if we’re able to get them, I would go and get them.”
