Edinson Cavani has set his sights on making a move to Spain next, according to his PSG team-mate Ander Herrera.
The South American forward is out of the current deal this summer and is wanted by a host of top teams across the world, including Chelsea and Manchester United.
Cavani is PSG’s all-time forward and would be a big-name addition to both Premier League giants, however, Ander Herrera has poured cold water over the possibility of South American forward to make the switch to the English top-tier.
‘I know Cavani wants to play in Spain. He loves the league and the country, he asks me about it a lot,’ Herrera told AS.
‘However, since we left Paris I’ve not spoken to him about his situation.’
Another Premier League team Newcastle United have emerged as shock contenders to secure the services of the Uruguay international forward, but Cavani is relaxed about his future.
‘My career will last for maybe several years still, here or elsewhere, I don’t know,’ he said.
‘I’ve spoken about it a lot with my entourage. I’ve always said that I would like to quit football rather than football quitting me.
‘I’d really like to finish having given everything. To get to that point where I’d say, “Guys, this is the point where I have to go”.
‘I don’t want life to lead me to play when I wouldn’t be capable of giving my best. The day will come where it will be obvious that the time’s come to move on to something else.’
The Red Devils were labelled serious contenders to secure the services of Edinson Cavani earlier this year, however, since extended Odion Ighalo’s loan deal talks have been cooled.
The Blues themselves are poised to make a big signing after reached agreement to sign RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
