Manchester United playmaker Donny van de Beek was reportedly offered to Barcelona in a swap deal for French centre-back Samuel Umtiti.
Van de Beek’s first full campaign at Man United saw him feature a mere four times from the first whistle in the English top-tier, and he has been tipped to head for the exit door amid interest from Arsenal.
Meanwhile, French centre-back, Samuel Umtiti has been pictured taking part in pre-season training with the Catalan club, however, he is one of the teams big earners believed to be on the transfer list given their financial crisis.
According to Sport, Van de Beek was offered to the Spanish giants and the Red Devils would have been given Umtiti in return, however, it is unclear whether the 20-times English champions, were actually interested in the Frenchman.
The Red Devils are instead expected to secure a contract for Umtiti’s 2018 World Cup partner Raphael Varane, who was also the subject of a rumoured part-exchange deal involving Dutch midfielder, Donny Van de Beek.
Samuel Umtiti, meanwhile, is being heavily linked with a return to Ligue 1 giants, Lyon, and Les Gones have reportedly opened talks with La Liga club Barcelona over a loan deal for the centre-back.
