Man Utd set to offer new contract to £75,000 a-week midfielder

Manchester United are reportedly giving consideration to offer a new deal to Brazilian midfielder Fred.

While the South American midfielder has not always impressed since his arrival at Old Trafford, the defensive-minded player is currently regarded as first choice under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

With the 27-year-old tied to the 20-times English champions until the end of the 2023-24 season, the Red Devils remain in a strong position with regards to his future.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, club officials are contemplating whether to open talks over fresh terms.

Fred has been played 12 games since the beginning of September, with eight starts coming in England’s top-ter and the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes has reportedly emerged as a surprise transfer target for El Classico giants, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Portugal international midfielder has enjoyed a productive first 11 months at Old Trafford, founding back of the net 18 times and provided 13 assists from just 33 games.

With Bruno Fernandes possessing a deal until 2025, the Red Devils are in a good position regarding the player’s future.

However, according to Fichajes, Fernandes will look to depart the Premier League heavyweights should things not improve at the club.
