Manchester United are reportedly set to renew their interest in signing of West Ham United star Declan Rice in the summer of 2022.
The England international midfielder was thought to have been the subject of interest from the Red Devils, Manchester City and Chelsea in the most recent transfer window, however, all three Premier League giatns, were put off by West Ham’s £80m asking price.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team failed to bring a new playmaker to the club ahead of the 2021-22 campaign, although they have kept French international midfielder, Paul Pogba on the books for at least another year.
However, with engine room additions thought to be a must for the Red Devils next summer, ESPN reports that Rice remains on top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wishlist.
The report adds that the Red Devils instead decided to prioritise a new forward – Jadon Sancho – and new centre-back – Raphael Varane – in the most recent window, while the Hammers will likely have to lower their demands for Rice next year.
Liverpool have also recently been credited with an interest in 22-year-old star, who will supposedly only sign a new contract at West Ham if a release clause is inserted.
The England international has already played 148 games for West Ham in all competitions, founding back of the net five times and setting up six more.
