Manchester United are looking at Lyon forward Moussa Dembele as the club look to replace outgoing Edinson Cavani.

Ex-France youth international has 18 months to run on his deal at Les Gones and the Ligue 1 side are ready to hear offers for him in the summer, which will be the side’s last chance to extract a hefty fee for the former Celtic player.

The Uruguayan is set to depart Old Trafford at the end of the term when his contract runs out, while there is significant doubt over the futures of Marcus Rashford. and Cristiano Ronaldo.

They look unlikely to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and United, therefore, must be more pragmatic with who they target this summer.

Moussa played just twice in the PL for Fulham as a teenager and the attacker has long wanted to make England return, having thrived north of the border with the Celts.

The number nine has nine goals in 19 division appearances this term and the Daily Mail say the Red Devils are considering him as a successor for Cavani.

Considering Dembele’s contract situation, the Ligue 1 club will reluctantly cash in on the star at the end of the campaign.

They will accept proposals in the region of £25 million, though the English outfit could attempt to land him for less.
