Man Utd told to pay €11m in order to seal transfer of Croatian star

Juventus have reportedly set the long-term Manchester United target Mario Mandzukic’s asking price at €11m.

The former Croatia international has made 162 appearances for the Old Lady since joining them from Atletico Madrid.

One of the country’s stars in their run to the World Cup final the previous summer, Mandzukic scored ten goals and provided seven assists in 33 matches across all competitions last season.

In spite of extending his stay at Juventus till the summer of 2021, the striker is yet to make a single match for the Serie A champions in 2019/20.

Mandzukic was connected to Manchester United during the summer transfer market, according to Tuttosport. However, no deal was materialised and the forward stayed in Turin.

Calciomercato stated some days back that Juventus were keen on selling the 33-year-old in January with Manchester United and Los Angeles FC interested in signing him.

Now, a recent report from the Italian media outlet claims that the Bianconeri have set their player’s price-tag at €11 million. It is also understood that the star is eyeing a move to England.

Juventus’ attack currently has the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala. Hence, there is every chance of Mario not receiving much game time under Maurizio Sarri this campaign.

A transfer away from Turin would be best for the veteran. Manchester United can easily benefit from having an experienced player like Mandzukic in their squad.

He may not be a regular first-team player but could be a mentor the team’s youngsters. €11m seems a reasonable price tag for him and the Red Devils can easily afford him.
