Mikel Arteta keen on to lure Man City creative attacker at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal are allegedly interested in landing Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling in the upcoming transfer market.

That is according to the Telegraph, who report the Gunners will ‘explore’ a summer move for the England international as he enters the final 12 months of his Citizens contract.

Boss Mikel Arteta worked closely with the player during his three seasons as a coach at the Etihad alongside Pep Guardiola.

And, if he is available to buy at the end of the term, the Spaniard is said to be interested in reuniting with the wide man and making him an important part of the team’s attack.

The Jamaican-born frontman, who has scored 77 goals for his team in the Premier League over the last five campaigns, has previously said that he’d be ‘open’ to a move somewhere else.

Speaking at the FT Business of Sport US Summit last year, he said: “If there was the opportunity to go somewhere else, I would be open to it at this moment in time.”

The club will be interested in bolstering their attack in the summer, as they look to replace out-of-contract duo Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah and the Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Three Lions star, who has now collected 74 caps for his nation, would add to an already English-heavy roster that Arteta is assembling.
