Mino Raiola has offered Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti to Manchester United after dispiriting talks with the French outfit’s new manager Thomas Tuchel. The Italian is one of the highest rated midfielders in Europe and had been expected to play a pivotal role under Tuchel, with the new head coach meeting with the midfielder to discuss his role next season.
However, Calciomercato reports that Tuchel’s meeting did not go entirely to plan after Verratti was instructed to lose weight by his meticulous manager.
Thomas Tuchel is a perfectionist when it comes to nutrition and diet, and – though he wants Italian to have a vital role – does not believe the 25-year-old is in the best possible shape. That has seen Verratti’s agent, the notorious Raiola, reach out to many European clubs about a summer switch, with United notably among them.
Barcelona have already said no, while Juventus and Real Madrid are not ready to make a move at this time, but the Red Devils are considering an offer. Jose Mourinho has a good relationship with Raiola and has signed several his clients since moving to Old Trafford, with Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku both represented by Raiola.
