Manchester United head-coach Jose Mourinho has said that Spanish stopper David De Gea wishes to stay at Old Trafford beyond the conclusion of this campaign, according to the Mirror reports.
De Gea’s deal with the Red Devils runs out after the end of the current campaign and the Spaniard is yet to agree on a new deal to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
The stopper does, however, have the option for a further 12-month extension in his current deal with the Red Devils are expected to utilise.
Following Tuesday night’s Champions League win over Young Boys, Portuguese manager told the press that he is convinced that De Gea is keen on to remain at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future, despite strong interest from hosts of top European teams including PSG and Real Madrid.
“I know he wants to stay.
“I know his agent is happy to do what the player wants and I also know that the board wants him to stay and they are working on that. So hopefully, sooner or later, they arrive at a good conclusion.”
