Serie A giants Napoli could reportedly battle Manchester United for the services of Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
The 24-year-old defender has been in stunning form for the Spanish outfits during the 2020-21 season and has played a vital role in their progression to the Europa League final.
The Red Devils continue to be heavily linked with the Spain international, who could allegedly be available for €30m (£26m)when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.
However, according to Calciomercato, the Red Devils are likely to face strong competition from Napoli, with the Serie A outfit potentially seeking a replacement for Senegalese international midfielder Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Los Blancos have also been credited with a strong interest in Torres, who has found back of the net three times and provided two assists in 41 games at club level this season.
Man United’s interest in the Villarreal centre-back could depend on whether they are able to lure away Raphael Varane from Santiago Bernabeu in the upcoming market.
Napoli’s centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly meanwhile has been on the radar of Man United and Chelsea with Senegalese international defender keen on to play in the Premier League.
