Newcastle United have tabled a proposal to Liverpool forward Divock Origi, according to the latest reports.

The Belgian has less than one month left on his contract on Merseyside and is likely to leave Anfield as a free agent after this term.

Over the past several weeks, numerous reports have pushed forward Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan to be his next location.

The Serie A giants are joined by Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United and a few other teams in the chase for the 27-year-old star’s signature.

That is according to Calciomercato, who report the former Lille player had proposals from outfits in Germany and England, including from the Toons.

However, Divock said no to the offers from interested parties because he gave his word to senior figure Paolo Maldini. Origi is now expected to arrive in Lombardy as a free agent in the summer market.

The source further explains the Reds frontman will be a Rossoneri player in the coming weeks. The agreement is expected to be reached after Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League final versus Real Madrid on May 28th.

After rejecting the Magpies and a few other clubs, he’ll sign a four-year contract with his new club that will include a salary worth €4 million per term.
