Arsenal out-of-favour midfielder Mohamed Elneny has reportedly emerged as a shock transfer target for Greek giants Olympiacos.

Having fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium during Unai Emery’s time, the Egypt international was loaned out to Turkish outfits Besiktas for the season at the end of August.

The 27-year-old midfield destroyer has since made 25 starts and two substitute appearences in all competitions, which includes two games since the resumption of Turkey’s top-tier.

According to Sportime, Egypt international midfielder’s form have led to interest from Greek heavyweights, Olympiacos.

Although Turkish giants, Besiktas have an option to buy the midfielder, a permanent switch is considered unlikely due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.

With Egyptian midfielder having two years left on his current deal, the Gunners must decide whether to cash in or keep the defensive-minded player as part of their squad next campaign.

Meanwhile, Arsenal defensive midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has reportedly emerged as a shock transfer target for Man Utd.

Despite having initially established himself as one of the teams top prospects after a move from French outfits Lorient, the 21-year-old midfielder has recently dropped down the pecking order under new head-coach, Mikel Arteta.

After showing a lack of discipline against Brighton last weekend, Frenchman was subsequently left out of the squad for the Southampton clash on Thursday, resulting in rumours regarding his long-term future at the North London club.
