Pacy Barcelona defender yet to make decision over his future amid Man Utd transfer links

Barcelona star Jordi Alba still hasn’t agreed on a contract extension with the Catalan newspaper and it’s a huge boost for Manchester United, according to a report.

In spite of the player’s repeated public comments over his contractual situation, there doesn’t appear to have been any huge advance made on the matter.

With a contract ending in June 2020, it would have been perfect for Barcelona to agree a new contract before now, but it looks such is the confidence at the club that the star will eventually commit, they can leave things longer than they may have otherwise done.

A Spanish daily sports newspaper Sport say the contract is only half the problem, as the outlet explains Blaugrana are lacking balance.

They have options at right back and in the heart of the defence, but not so much on the left side, and this shows when Jordi is injured or suspended.

It’s stated the club have a ‘serious problem’ with the current situation and face a ‘black hole’ without Spaniard. Sport believe there’s a ‘lack of planning’ at Blaugrana when it comes to the left back position.
