Manchester United will reportedly have to fend off interest from Ligue 1 giants PSG to land the signature of Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier.
The 20-times English champions are believed to have earmarked Trippier as the ideal player to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at the right-back position, however, money is proving to be an issue.
Atletico are believed to demand a fee in the region of €50m (£42.9m) to part ways with their first-choice right-back, which has supposedly forced the Red Devils to seek out alternatives such as Norwich City’s Max Aarons.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side’ interest could now be complicated by French giants, according to France Football, who reports that Marucio Pochetinon’s side s are also keeping tabs on the Englishman’s situation having previously worked with him at Tottenham Hotspur.
PSG are supposedly pressing ahead for a move for Inter Milan’s full-back Achraf Hakimi as a priority, however, a recent report suggested that the Blues are making progress in their own bid to sign the Moroccan, leaving Les Parisiens to consider other options for the right-back spot.
Trippier claimed six assists from 28 La Liga appearances in Atletico’s title-winning 2020-21 campaign, however, he was left on the bench for England’s goalless draw with Scotland at Euro 2020 on Friday as Gareth Southgate prefers Kyle Walker at the right-back position.
