Crystal Palace have made the struggling Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi their top transfer target during the January window, according to the latest reports in the British press.
The 26-year-old Belgian international scored six goals in 11 starts for the club while on-loan last season.
Now Roy Hodgson wants to bring the player back to Selhurst Park to improve his misfiring forward line when the transfer window re-opens this winter, according to a recent report from the Express.
But Crystal Palace will have to splash out £22 million to land the hitman. Michy is attempting to finally force his way into the Blues first-team under new boss Frank Lampard.
Since his arrival back in 2016 he has been shipped out on loan to Valencia and Borussia Dortmund as well as Palace.
And the striker has already found the net three times in six matches for the Blues this season, in spite of starting just once.
He bagged the fourth in the 4-1 win at Southampton the last week for his first Chelsea PL strike since October 2017.
However, it has been England international Tammy Abraham who has established himself as Frank’s No1 forward.
And with his path blocked once again, and facing competition from France international Olivier Giroud, he could be tempted to leave Stamford Bridge permanently.
Chelsea, who paid £32 million for Batshuayi to the Ligue 1 outfit Marseille back in 2016, have him under contract until the summer of 2021 and rate him at £22 million.
