Aston Villa are said to be interested in securing the services of Belgian attacker Divock Origi.

The west midlands outfit are reportedly in the market for a new forward and are looking to spend around £20million.

According to the Mirror, the Villains are planning to make a move for the Mersyeside Reds forward Divock Origi after securing their Premier League status for another campaign.

Belgian forward is obviously well respected by fans of the champions, however, inconsistent form has put a question mark over his head.

While Brazilian forward Firmino’s role in Jurgen Klopp’s team is to press, recycle possession and allow Egypt intenraitonal forward Mo Salah and Sadio Mane to flourish, Origi is often tasked with goal-scoring.

The Belgian has managed to score seven goa;ls in his last 40 league games for the Mersyeside Reds.

An offer of around £20million may be palatable, in a market impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and with Rhian Brewster has hade an impressive loan spell last year.

Origi does offer depth for African forward, Sadio Mane, however – and Klopp would be tasked with finding another player who can play on the wings if the forward leaves.

New signing Kostas Tsimikas is capable of filling in on left side, however, as a left-footed defender he isn’t likely to be utilised there often by Jurgen Klopp.
