According to the reports, Newcastle United could reportedly be forced to break their club record to sign Chelsea prodigy Kenedy this month.
Club manager Rafael Benitez is said to be keen to strengthen the squad for the second half of the campaign in a bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
As per the Chronicle, Chelsea expect the North-East outfit to spend in excess of £16m to secure the deal for 21-year-old Kenedy, whose loan deal to St James’ Park fell through in the summer.
It was also reported that Newcastle hope to sign two players this week, with at least one coming through the welcome gates before Sunday’s FA Cup game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have identified Luis Enrique and Juliano Belletti as potential arrivals at Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Over the past six months, reports have suggested that the Blues current manager Antonio Conte will not remain at the club past the end of the campaign, and it has led to numerous names being linked with the West London giants.
However, as per the Daily Star, Belettin and Enrique are high on the shortlist of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and could move to the West Londoners before the start of the next season.
Luis Enrique has been out of work since leaving Barcelona last summer, while Belletti enjoyed three campaigns at Chelsea during his playing career and could be appointed as the club’s director of football if allowed to leave his ambassadorial role at Camp Nou.
