Real Madrid on loan defender Achraf Hakimi has said that he is “proud” to have been rumoured with a top teams across Europe following his form with Borussia Dortmund.
The 21-year-old has spent the past two seasons at Signal Iduna Park, establishing himself as a vital member of the German giants starting XI under Lucien Favre en route to playing 65 games across all competitions.
Hakimi’s form this campaign has been particularly stunning, founding back of the net seven times and providing 10 assists from full-back, prompting speculation that Real Madrid want to keep hold of him when his loan spell expires, although Los Blancos are bracing themselves for significant interest in his services.
When asked about the rumours over his future, Hakimi told Cadena SER: “Who does not like it? I am proud of what I am doing.
“In June I will have to make a decision and it will be a great step for my career. In theory my contract ends in June and from there I have to return to Madrid.
“I have not yet had contact with Madrid on this matter, but I imagine that soon we will have some conversation to find out what is best for me.”
In addition, Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus, PSG and Bayern Munich have all also been linked with a move for Real Madrid full-back when the transfer window will be re-opened.
Chelsea and Arsenal are believed to be the main favourites to lure the Morocco international full-back away from Santiago Bernabeu.
