Real Madrid set to hijack Man Utd move for £52m forward

La Liga giants Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to battle Manchester United and Man City for the services of Sporting Lisbon wonderkid Nuno Mendes.

The 18-year-old has been in fine form for Sporting during the 2020-21 season, scoring once and providing two assists in 35 games in all competitions.

Both Manchester teams are believed to be keen on the left-back, who is believed to be valued by his Portuguese club in the region of £52m.

However, according to Record, Manchester giants are likely to face competition from Real Madrid, who have been impressed by his progress this season and keen on luring him at Santiago Bernabeu.

The report suggests that the Red Devils are preparing to meet with Mendes’s agent Miguel Pinho, who was in attendance for the English teams Premier League games with Fulham on Tuesday night.

The youngster still has more than four years on his current deal with the Green and Whites that claimed the trophy earlier last week.

Man Utd and Man City also keen on strengthening their offensive end by signing Dortmund centre-forward Halland.

Man Utd have managed to secure a place for the next season Champions League as they are second in the Premier League table.
