Real Madrid have reportedly already made initial contacts and enquiries over Manchester United target Erling Haaland, with a view to landing him next summer’s transfer window.
He resisted leaving Borussia Dortmund in the recently concluded transfer market despite Chelsea being keen before they signed Romelu Lukaku.
The Norwegian ace is expected to depart the club next year when a reported €75 million exit clause will come into effect in his Signal Iduna Park contract.
And the jostling amongst the continent’s heavyweights have already started regarding the possibility of snapping up the 21-year-old, who continues to be linked with the Red Devils.
And according to the Madrid-based Spanish outlet Marca, Los Blancos have already held initial discussions to assess the possibility of signing Erling.
The Spanish side are aiming to sign Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer in 2022 from Paris Saint-Germain, but Erling is also on their radar.
The first contact has been positive and the attacker is understood to be intrigued by the possibility of switching to the Bernabeu.
But they are expected to face stern competition from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, who have identified the player as their top target.
The Old Trafford outfit are banking on the Norwegian tactician convincing his fellow countryman to move to Old Trafford.
They also believe living legend Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence also gives them an advantage in the race because of Haaland’s admiration of the Portuguese.
