Real Madrid set to offer £6.8m pear year contract to Chelsea defender

La Liga giants, Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to offer Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger a deal worth £6.8m a year to move to the Bernabeu on a free transfer when his contract expires with the Blues.

The 28-year-old, who continues to be strongly rumoured with a move to German giants, Bayern Munich, has still not signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge, and as it stands, he will be a free agent next summer.

Foreign teams will be able to speak with the German centre-back at the turn of the year if he does not pen a new deal with Thomas Tuchel’s side in the coming weeks.

According to Defensa Central, the Los Blancos are determined to bring the defender to the Spanish capital and are prepared to offer him lucrative terms.

The report claims that Los Blancos will place a £6.8m-a-year offer on the table, in addition to handing the German a substantial signing-on bonus.

German centre-back has once again been a vital player for Tuchel’s team during the 2021-22 season, playing 10 games in all competitions, scoring once in the process.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are keen to sign at least one new centre-back next summer, having allowed both Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane to depart from the club ahead of the current season.
