Harry Maguire has allegedly urged Manchester United to go all out to land Brighton defender Ben White this summer.
The Red Devils are said to be on the hunt for a new centre-half with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to reinforce his backline ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
Several top centre-halves have been linked in the latest times, including Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane and Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.
However, according to journalist Duncan Castles, in spite of the long list of linked European defenders, Harry has informed the club’s board that he would prefer an English-speaking partner.
Maguire is understood to be a big fan of the 23-year-old star, who has impressed at the heart of the Seagulls’ defence this term.
They would demand around £50 million for Ben, who excelled on loan at Leeds last campaign as they secured promotion to the Premier League.
United are also on the hunt for a centre-forward this summer and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland is believed to be on Ole’s shortlist.
The Norwegian tactician has developed into a superstar since signing for the German club in January 2020, scoring 47 goals in 47 games.
However, reports on Saturday suggested that the Red Devils also said to be unable to compete financially with their PL rivals in the current economic climate, especially because his £90 million exit clause must be paid in one instalment.
Their city rivals, Manchester City, have already made contact with Erling’s agent Mino Raiola, who is said to be prepared to bury the hatchet with Pep Guardiola.
