According to the Gazzetta Dello Sport, Sampdoria will look to increase the buyout clause of reported Arsenal target Dennis Praet.
At the end of July, another Italian publication Calciomercato reported that the north London outfit were interested in signing the midfielder, in addition to his former teammate and Uruguay international Lucas Torreira.
However, the Arsenal did not bid for the Belgian before the close of the summer transfer window, despite the player having a €26 million (£23.2m) release clause.
It now seems Sampdoria want to offer an extension to the 24-year-old, and increase his buyout clause in the process, with the versatile player now attracting the interest of Italian giants like Juventus, Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli.
Dennis Praet has been sidelined with a knee injury for a few weeks and has only appeared once so far this term. He started the 1-0 win over Viterbese in the Coppa Italia back in mid-August.
The last term, he was ever-present alongside Lucas Torreira in the heart of Sampdoria’s midfield, appearing in 35 league matches.
For Arsenal, it will be great move to make a move for the Belgian as he will partner with Lucas Torreira, with whom he has spent many seasons.
