Juventus are plotting a stunning £150m summer move for Virgil van Dijk, according to the reports.
The Serie A giants want to make the Merseyside Reds star the world’s most expensive centre-back for the second time.
Having lured Cristiano Ronaldo from La Liga giants Real Madrid, the Serie A team have identified Dutchman as the man who can help them to claim the Champions League trophy.
The 28-year-old defender may be open to a move abroad if runaway Prem leaders Liverpool managed to end the season with a glory to add to their Champions League, Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup honours.
A Juve source said: “After winning a bagful of trophies with Liverpool, Juventus think he may be ready for a new challenge at the end of the season — especially as he’s been playing in the UK for a few years.
“And the club are actively planning to make a huge bid for him in the summer.”
The Holland defender led his country to second place in the Nations League and ended as the runner-up for Ballon d’Or up to Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.
Dutch defender last week admitted: “I’m 28 now and I want to fulfil every dream I ever had.
“Life can be short. Your career can be short as well.
“I’m enjoying playing with this team and this manager. We can’t look too far ahead. But right now, I’m enjoying it.”
Van Dijk has been the jewel in Liverpool’s defence, which has conceded just 15 Prem goals in 25 games this season.
It is believed that Serie A champions, Juve would be prepared to top the massive £142m the Catalan club splashed out for the Reds playmaker Philippe Coutinho two years ago.
Van Dijk became the world’s most expensive defender from his transfer from Southampton in a £75m in January 2018, before Maguire maid £85m move from Leicester to Manchester United earlier last summer.
But Juventus are ready to nearly double that price and secure the services of Dutch defender.
