La Liga giants, Sevilla are reportedly not prepared to let French centre-back Jules Kounde depart from the club during the January transfer window.

The Frenchman was strongly rumoured with a move to Man Utd and Chelsea over the summer, however, the West London club could not come to an agreement with the defender’s La Liga team over a transfer fee.

There is a £69m release clause in the 23-year-old’s contract, a recent report suggested that the Red Devils were planning to make a move at the start of 2022.

However, according to Marca, Sevilla will not sell the 22-year-old centre-back for anything under his buy-out fee and will refuse to entertain any offers in January.

The report suggests that the La Liga giants are not prepared to ‘destroy the team’ by allowing him to depart in the middle of the current campaign, however, an exit during next summer’s transfer window is a possibility.

Jules Kounde, who is allegedly ‘happy’ at Sevilla again after initially being frustrated at not securing a summer departure from the club, has played 13 games at club level during the 2021-22 season.

Man Utd and Chelsea also eyeing a move for another La Liga defender Eder Militao in order to strengthen their defensive end.
