Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is readying a summer raid on Chelsea for forward Armando Broja, who is currently out on loan at Southampton.
He is at St Mary’s for the entirety of the 2021-22 term and has scored seven goals in 24 matches under Ralph Hasenhuttl but senior team experience has seen the standard of his showings rise as the campaign has gone on.
Now, according to a recent report by Football London, Mikel and co. have taken notice of the 20-year-old’s star south coast displays and the Spanish tactician regards the Albanian forward highly.
The aforementioned publication says that for Mikel, bolstering his options in the final third will be a priority this summer and a move for the Blues-owned player is being considered.
They tried and failed to land a striker in the January transfer market. Dusan Vlahovic was a No.1 target but he opted to sign for Juventus from Fiorentina.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also left the Emirates on a free transfer after being exiled by the head coach and has since joined Barcelona.
For the remainder of the term, the club will be battling it out for the fourth and final UEFA Champions League qualifying place.
