Spanish playmaker on the verge to sign for Arsenal within weeks

January 11, 2019

Denis Suarez has agreed to join Arsenal after holding talks with Unai Emery.

Barcelona midfielder is one of the Gunners’ priority targets for the winter transfer window, and the two sides have already held talks over a potential deal this month.

Denis Suarez thrived under Unai Emery during his season-long loan at Sevilla and played a key role in the club’s Europa League success back in 2015.

But since returning to Camp Nou, the midfielder has struggled to secure a regular place in the team, and he has only made six appearances this season. According to Sport, the Catalan giants want to sell Denis Suarez but would also be open to Arsenal signing the Spaniard on loan for the rest of the campaign with an obligatory option to buy.

The report also adds that Suarez has received offers from AC Milan and Valencia, but Unai Emery has convinced him to join the Gunners.

Barcelona and Arsenal will now press ahead with negotiations with Suarez’s approval being a huge boost to the Gunners’ chances of clinching a move.

The 25-year-old has also attracted interest from West Ham and Everton but the midfielder, who has just a year left on his contract with Barcelona, is intent on joining Arsenal and will reject all other approaches.
