The £34m Belgian midfielder reveals his dream to play for Man United

January 13, 2018

Manchester United have handed a massive boost as the Red Devils summer target Leander Dendoncker admits he would jump at the chance to sign for the club.

The Anderlecht midfield sensation was heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford this summer but a move failed to materialise. He has made 136 appearances for the Belgian club since his debut back in 2013.

It is believed that PSG are also keen on the 22-year-old star but Dendoncker has made his feelings about Man United very clear.

“If it was as concrete as was being said, if they wanted me at all costs, I’d already be there,” he explained to Belgian media outlet Sport/Foot.

“When you play for Anderlecht and you have the chance to go there, you don’t hesitate, but Anderlecht had their bit to say. Everyone had to agree.”

The Red Devils were reportedly priced out of a move for the talented midfielder after Anderlecht demanded a transfer fee of £34m.

“For a club to pay what they were asking for, the club needed to be concretely interested,” the Belgian international continued. “If Anderlecht asked for a lot of money, it’s because they knew it would be difficult, and, at that time of the year, the price was over exaggerated.”
