Transfer Blow: Arsenal set to miss out signing of 12-goals Serie A star

By | June 24, 2022

Arsenal could allegedly face competition from Stefano Pioli’s side AC Milan for the signature of Sassuolo frontman Gianluca Scamacca.

The 22-year-old player has been a key player for I Neroverdi this season, netting 13 goals in 30 Serie A matches.

The Italy international is believed to be one of a host of players on the Gunners’ radar, with Mikel Arteta set to bring in at least one new striker in this summer’s transfer market.

However, Calciomercato states that I Rossoneri are set to rival the Londoners for his signature and they have the finances to land the sought-after forward.

Even though Liverpool’s Belgian star Divock Origi is apparently edging closer to a move to the San Siro side, the Scudetto title-chasers are still on the observation post for more reinforcements in the final third ahead of the 2022-23 season, as the long-term futures of veteran pair Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic remain uncertain.

Gianluca, who has also been linked with Newcastle United, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund, is under contract at the Mapei Stadium outfit until the summer of 2025.
