According to the reports from Daily Star, Turkish giants Galatasaray have reportedly cooled their interest in Liverpool experienced midfielder Lucas Leiva, who has been heavily linked with a departure from the Merseyside giants.
The 30-year-old holding midfielder will be out of contract with Liverpool this summer and could finally call time on his decade-long Anfield career.
Galatasaray have long been linked with a move for the Brazilian midfielder. But, as per the Fotomac, talks over a transfer move to Istanbul have stalled with the Turkish giants unwilling to meet his salary demands.Lucas, apparently on £3m-a-year at Merseyside club, is believed to want a £1.5m signing-on fee on top of his salary.
And he has reportedly also requested that the money be paid in British pound sterling rather than Turkish Lira. But Fotomac say Galatasary are completely at odds with Lucas, meaning a deal is off the table for now.
The Brazilian veteran has made 29 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side in all competitions this term. The former Gremio man played the full 90 minutes as the Reds claimed an important 1-0 victory at Watford last night.
