Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has reportedly reached an agreement in principle to sign for Barcelona this summer.
The 32-year-old is out of contract in June and has knocked back proposals from the club to extend.
Football Insider reports that the Catalan outfit have agreed on a deal in principle for the Spaniard to join on a free transfer.
It is expected the transfer for the experienced club skipper will be completed at the end of the campaign.
It’d bring to an end his glittering 10-year stay in West London, where he has lifted every major trophy.
The Blues are currently unable to negotiate fresh deals due to the sanctions placed on the Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich by the UK government.
He has played a whopping 463 games for the capital outfit across his 10-year stay, netting 16 goals and assisting 56.
Cesar has made 36 appearances for his country’s national team since making his debut in the winter of 2013.
He captained Spain for the first time in a FIFA World Cup qualifier versus Georgia in September 2021.
The side sit third in the PL and are still vying for silverware in the Champions League and FA Cup.
