Chelsea stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga has reportedly emerged as a shock transfer target for La Liga giants Valencia.
The 25-year-old forward became the world’s most expensive stopper when he has made a €80m switch to Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao back in 2018, however, the Spain international has largely struggled to make his mark at the West London club.
Kepa has spent some time out of the first XI before the English top-tier was postponed back in March, with experienced Argentine stopper Willy Caballero starting four of the last five games before it has been cancelled.
The West London club are believed to be considering cutting their losses on the Spanish keeper during this summer’s transfer window, and according to Mundo Deportivo, La Liga giants Valencia are showing strong interest in his services.
The report suggests that Los Che are in the market for a replacement for former Barcelona stopper Jasper Cillessen and view Spaniard as the ideal player to join the team ahead of the 2020-21 season.
The ex-Bilbao starlet has only kept six clean sheets in 25 Premier League games this season and his relationship with Frank Lampard could see him departing from Stamford Bridge ahead of the new campaign.
