Manchester United could be ready to make a £70m bid to try and land West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice in January transfer window, according to the latest reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the talented midfielder is being linked with a big-money transfer to Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen his squad in the mid-season window.

The same story says that Red Devils are continuing to monitor Declan’s development at the east London outfit as the January transfer market draws nearer.

Manchester United are looking to land a new defensive midfield lynchpin and England international could fit the bill at the Old Trafford outfit.

However, the same story also carries quotes from the 20-year-old star himself, with the midfielder saying that he is currently content at West Ham United and isn’t paying too much attention to the rumours.

Manchester United are bound to be connected with a host of players in the forthcoming January transfer market after their dreadful start to the new campaign left them in 12th place in the table.

The 20-times English champions will return to Premier League action on Sunday when they take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, according to Calciomercato, AC Milan have now joined the race for Barcelona midfielder and Manchester United target Ivan Rakitic, who recently hinted that he could depart Camp Nou in search of regular football.

The report claims that Rossoneri are determined to add experience to their team in the winter, and the Italian club are preparing to ‘lay down the groundwork for a January move’.
