Ian Wright has told Sergio Aguero to pick Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea as his next club after he quits Manchester City at the end of the season.
The Citizens announced at the end of March that the Argentine attacker will depart from the Etihad when his contract expires in the summer, bringing an end to his glittering 10-year stint at the club.
Aguero, who is the PL’s fourth-highest scorer of all time on 182 goals, has been linked with the continent’s elite clubs such as Barcelona, where Sergio would link up with fellow countryman Lionel Messi.
But speaking on Ringer FC’s Wrighty’s House podcast, Arsenal icon Wright urged the 32-year-old star to continue in England’s top flight with the Blues.
‘Can I throw something out there? He should go to Chelsea,’ Wright said.
‘When you look at Edinson Cavani [at Manchester United] and the pace of the guys behind him, you look at Luis Suarez at Atleti, the pace and everything they’ve got around him.
‘Can you imagine Aguero up top for Chelsea with Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, all those guys, [Callum] Hudson-Odoi, [Christian] Pulisic around him, that’s 25 goals.
‘Me, if I’m Chelsea and I can get him for free, I’m going in. I’ve fabricated this all in my head that he’s vexed with Pep [Guardiola] and it’s the kind of thing where he’ll say, “Yes, I’m going to go to Chelsea”.’
